Background
Origins of
the Program 2011 (Video 3m:36s)
Live Life Aloha began as a community support group working out of the
University of Hawaii Maui College (UHMC).
We were working under a grant agreement with the
State of Hawaii Department of Health - Maui
Office
The program was funded through the Communities Putting Prevention
to Work (CPPW) program.
The goal of Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) program
is to reduce chronic disease, morbidity, and mortality by
supporting evidence and practice-based community approaches to
chronic disease prevention and control. Community based programs
are sponsored by the
United States Department of Disease Control (CDC)
in cooperation with States' Department of Health.
Live Life Aloha wishes to thank the CDC and the State of Hawaii's Department
of Health for their interest and support of our program - Mahalo!
